What is a Pilot Community Group?
We are looking for leaders and hosts to help start new Pilot Community Groups this fall. Pilot Community Groups are brand new Community Groups (CGs) that meet weekly for seven weeks during the fall. (If you would like to start a group that meets every other month, please indicate it in the comments below.)

Pilot Community Groups are especially designed for people who are new to RWS or have never joined a CG before. Just like ongoing CGs, they gather people for worship, Bible discussion, prayer, fellowship and service. All Pilot Community Group will use discussion guides provided weekly that correspond with the Sunday sermon text.

Requirements:
  • RWS member or regular attendee in process of pursuing membership
  • Passion for God and fostering gospel community
  • Leaders: Participation at one leader training session in late September
  • Hosts: Room for at least 6 people to sit comfortably in the room

FAQs
1. When do Pilot Community Groups start and end?
New groups will open to accept participant sign ups after Labor Day. We encourage all new groups to hold their first meeting during the week of October 1 and end the week before Thanksgiving.

2.  What if I want to keep my group going for the year?
We would celebrate that! It is our prayer that new Pilot Community Groups would be welcoming spaces where friendships emerge and participants experience growth in their relationship with God, thus, groups would choose to continue beyond the pilot period as ongoing Community Groups.

3. What is the time commitment for a leader?
  • Before each meeting: 15-30 minutes to prep with the discussion guide and pray, 5 minutes to send out the weekly reminder email
  • Actual meeting: 1.5 - 2 hours
  • Additional: Attendance at the October CG Leader Huddle lunch and November RWS Leaders lunch are encouraged
Please tell us a little about yourself and your interest level in starting a new community group. We will then contact you to set up a time to chat further.
