As a fashion designer\, I take a stand to do the exact opposite of this. For over a decade\, my company\, Elegantees\, has been employing survivors of human trafficking\, and women that were at risk\, to make the clothing. The redemptive workshop in Kathmandu\, Nepal is restoring lives\, one elegant tee at a time” – K.M \nJoin us for Sewn to Restore to see the visual story by designer Katie Martinez\, Founder of Elegantees.com through the lens of Prabin Kumari-Karki. Experience at this exhibit and fashion show a representation of healing\, dignity\, and hope\, through empowerment\, and the fight against slavery and human trafficking. \nElegantees fashion show will be held at W83 during NYFW on Saturday\, September 7 at 5 pm. \nKatie is a fashion designer and justice focused entrepreneur. She is a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology\, founded a clothing company in 2010 that is still here today\, and loves to use her gifts to fight human trafficking.
