SUMMARY:Three Kings Day Celebration at the Frederick Douglass Houses
DESCRIPTION:Join us at the Frederick Douglass houses as the community celebrates Three Kings Day. In many Hispanic and Latin American cultures\, Three Kings Days (also known as Epiphany) is the final celebration that marks the end of the 12 days of Christmas. \nThe story of the three kings (Matthew 2:1-12) will be told\, and there will be food and toys given out to the kids. This is an opportunity for our church to not only volunteer but more so to build relationships with the community there. \nRedeemer West Side will be collecting toy donations for children ages 0-12. DESCRIPTION:Connect with and serve our neighbors living in the Frederick Douglass Houses by giving out food to the community. The Frederick Douglass Houses are a low-to-middle-income public housing complex stretching from 100th to 104th streets between Amsterdam and Manhattan Avenues. Come be a part of building relationships with and loving our neighbors in the West Side! \nVolunteers needed: 5-6 volunteers per date\nWhen: 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month. We start at 11:00 am and distribute food until it’s gone\, typically lasting 3-4 hours.
