But the reason for this is not because Jesus wants to keep us from what fulfills us; on the contrary\, it’s because Jesus is calling us to something deeper and far better. \nJoin us for this five-week class as we seek to disentangle biblical views on justice from the secular progressive view on matters like race\, sex\, and gender. We will see where the two visions overlap and\, where they do differ\, catch the better story that the gospel invites us into. The Frederick Douglass Houses are a low-to-middle-income public housing complex stretching from 100th to 104th streets between Amsterdam and Manhattan Avenues. SUMMARY:Journey Together cohort
DESCRIPTION:Redeemer West Side has been invited to participate in a pilot program aimed at normalizing conversations about death and dying in the church\, and to participate in end-of-life learning together as a community. This program is an initiative by Here to Honor\, a startup founded by Eva Ting (former W83 Director) and was incubated in the RWS Incubator last year. \nThis program is called “Journey Together” and is geared towards those who are on the frontlines of caring for others in their community. Its aim is to equip all of us\, starting with care leaders\, with perspective\, practices\, and preparations for living well and dying well. The program consists of three in-person workshops and three optional Zoom sessions between April and June\, and will be taught by Eva and her team. \n\nThe curriculum is formatted as three consecutive in-person workshops taught at W83 Ministry Center.\nA one-hour virtual session on Zoom is scheduled in the weeks following each workshop\, with optional participation for further questions and discussion.\n\nThe in-person workshops are from 12:15-3:00 pm at W83 Ministry Center\, Room 412 on: \n\nSunday\, April 2\, 2023\nSunday\, April 23\, 2023\nSunday\, June 4\, 2023\n\nThe Zoom meetings are from 8:00-9:00 pm on: \n\nMonday\, April 10\, 2023\nMonday\, May 8\, 2023\nMonday\, June 19\, 2023\n\nRegister online here. \nQuestions?
