Starting September 10, 2023, our services will be Sundays at 9:30 am & 11:30 am, which matches the two morning service times pre-pandemic.

Yes! The liturgy and worship will be the same at both services. On rare instances an element, such as membership vows and/baptisms, might occur at only one service.

We will livestream the 11:30 am service on our YouTube channel.

Yes! West Side Kids offers Sunday school for newborns through 4th grade at both services in addition to a 5th-6th grade class (Club 56) at the 11:30 am service.

Nursery – PreK aged children can be checked in and dropped off on the 3rd floor as early as 9:00 am for the 9:30 am service and 11:00 am for the 11:30 am service.

Kindergarten-6th graders must also be checked in and will be dismissed from service to their classes on the 4th floor before the sermon.

Moving to two services creates more opportunities for all of us to become more like Jesus through serving his church. The growth in our Sunday worship, children’s and youth ministries creates new opportunities for you to serve others the way Jesus served you.

Here are some of our Sunday volunteer needs that are a once-per-month commitment:

West Side Kids (18 volunteers needed at each service)
Nursery (4 needed)
PreK (4 needed)
Elementary (10 needed)

Sunday Service Team (13 volunteers needed at each service)
Ushers (9 needed)
Welcome Table (2 needed)
Book Table (2 needed)

Communion Team
(5 RWS Members needed on Communion Sundays)

There are even more opportunities to serve the church during the week with West Side Youth and Community Groups. As you look forward to our expanding community, where are you called to serve?

Sunday classes, trainings, and events will begin after the 11:30 am service. At that time the classrooms will no longer be in use by our Children’s Ministry.

Our 10:30 am worship service is starting to fill up. Starting a second worship service enables us to make room for our Upper West Side neighbors to worship with us. We can also provide an environment where deep relationships can form and create more opportunities for our community to live missional lives by serving at one of our two worship services.

We currently have no plans for additional changes beyond what we have mentioned above. Please check this FAQ for any potential updates.

When we had two services before the pandemic, congregants used coffee hour as a great way to connect with friends! The 9:30 am coffee hour will be happening when people are arriving for the 11:30 am service. Stay late and come early to catch up.

Starting October 1, prayer will meet in Room 411 from 11:00-11:25 am every Sunday, except major holidays.
