shalom: a city flourishing

We pursue and promote Shalom in our city through:

Proximity

Forming a lifestyle for justice, building relationships with our neighbors

The Shalom Lab began on Saturday, February 8. Through the collaborative efforts of Redeemer West Side and the Center for Faith & Work, the four-part Shalom Lab equips you with tools from design-thinking, asset-based community development, and biblical theology of kingdom change.

Hospitality

Welcoming our neighbors into W83, our home on the UWS.

Stay tuned for upcoming opportunities.

Community

Slowing down for connection and belonging in a lonely city.

Gather with friends to learn about and pray for the needs of your neighborhood.

Our Souper Bowl Party was on Sunday, February 9. There were over 90 attendees, many of whom were new to W83! Soup cans were donated to a local food pantry.

Attend Known and Loved: Community Restores our Mental Health conference on Saturday, April 5.

Prayer

Being a church that prays for our city.

Asking for Great Things: Learning Why and How to be a Church that Prays for Our City took place on Thursday, January 23 with pastor and author John Onwuchekwa. Listen to the audio recording here

Prayer Cohort I started on Monday, January 27. This five-session learning community includes in-depth teaching, in-class individual and group prayer exercises, and at-home devotionals and assignments.
