Last week, our church adventured into the wilderness with “True North” VBS! Thank you to our church family, who prayed for the impact of this past week’s learning about Jesus. It was a joy to welcome 110 incredible kids to Redeemer West Side, and we couldn’t have done it without the amazing 120 adult and 46 student volunteers who poured their hearts out.
Through lively stories, games, and crafts, our young adventurers discovered how Jesus truly is our unchanging compass, our “True North,” guiding us through all of life’s ups and downs. The energy and joy throughout the building were infectious, not only for the kids but also for the adults. It was powerful to watch them grasp that knowing and following Him provides such steady direction. Whenever we are scared, don’t have enough, feel powerless, or are lost, we can have hope when we trust Jesus.
One preschooler who missed his mommy broke out singing a VBS song to himself, “When you help me, Jesus, oh oh oh, I am not afraid. When you help me, Jesus oh oh oh, I am always brave.” What a beautiful reminder of God’s faithful love at work right here in our community!
