Welcome | Rev. Andrew Field, Executive Pastor

Call to Worship | Psalm 93
Leader: The Lord reigns, he is robed in majesty; the Lord is robed in majesty and armed with strength; indeed, the world is established, firm and secure.
All: Your throne was established long ago; you are from all eternity.

Song of Praise | Crown Him With Many Crowns
Crown him with many crowns
The lamb upon his throne
Hark, how the heavenly anthem drowns
All music but its own
Awake, my soul and sing
Of him who died for thee
And hail Him as thy matchless king
Through all eternity

Crown him the lord of love
Behold his hands and side
Rich wounds, yet visible above
In beauty glorified
No angel in the sky
Can fully bear that sight
But downward bends his burning eye
At mysteries so bright

Crown Him the lord of life
Who triumphed o’er the grave
Who rose victorious in the strife
For those he came to save
His glories now we sing
Who died and rose on high
Who died eternal life to bring
And lives that death may die

Crown him the lord of peace
Whose power a scepter sways

From pole to pole, that wars may cease
And all be prayer and praise

Crown him with many crowns
As thrones before him fall
Crown him, you kings, with many crowns
For he is king of all

Song of Praise | King of Kings
In the darkness we were waiting
Without hope, without light
‘Til from Heaven You came running
There was mercy in Your eyes
To fulfill the law and prophets
To a virgin came the word
From a throne of endless glory
To a cradle in the dirt

(Chorus)
Praise the Father, praise the Son
Praise the Spirit, three in one
God of glory, Majesty
Praise forever to the King of Kings

To reveal the kingdom coming
And to reconcile the lost
To redeem the whole creation
You did not despise the cross
For even in your suffering
You saw to the other side
Knowing this was our salvation
Jesus for our sake you died

(Chorus)

And the morning that You rose
All of Heaven held its breath
‘Til that stone was moved for good
For the Lamb had conquered death
And the dead rose from their tombs
And the angels stood in awe
For the souls of all who’d come
To the Father are restored

And the church of Christ was born
Then the Spirit lit the flame
Now this gospel truth of old
Shall not kneel, shall not faint
By His blood and in His name
In His freedom I am free
For the love of Jesus Christ
Who has resurrected me

(Chorus)

Prayer of Adoration (Concluded by the Lord’s Prayer)
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.

Silent Praise and Thanksgiving

Doxology | I Love You Lord/Holy, Holy, Holy
I love You Lord

And I lift my voice

To worship You

O my soul, rejoice

Take joy, my King

In what You hear

May it be a sweet, sweet sound

In Your ear

Holy, holy, holy (I love You Lord)
Lord God Almighty (And I lift my voice)
All Thy works shall praise Thy name (To worship You)
In earth, and sky, and sea (O my soul, rejoice)
Holy, holy, holy (Take joy, my King)
Merciful and mighty (In what You hear)
God in three Persons (May it be a sweet, sweet sound)
Blessed Trinity (In your ear)

Prayer of Confession | Psalm 130:1-6
Out of the depths I cry to you, Lord; Lord, hear my voice.
Let your ears be attentive to my cry for mercy.
If you, Lord, kept a record of sins, Lord, who could stand?
But with you there is forgiveness, so that we can, with reverence, serve you.
I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in his word I put my hope.
I wait for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning, more than watchmen wait for the morning.

Silent Confession

Words of Encouragement | 1 John 4:9-10
This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.

Prayers of the People

Song of Praise | Psalm 126
Our mouths they were filled, filled with laughter
Our tongues they were loosed, loosed with joy
Restore us, O Lord Restore us, O Lord

Although we are weeping, Lord help us keep sowing
The seeds of Your Kingdom for the day You will reap them
Your sheaves we will carry, Lord please do not tarry
All those who sow weeping will go out with songs of joy

The nations will say, “He has done great things!”
The nations will sing songs of joy
Restore us, O Lord, Restore us, O Lord

Greetings and Announcements

Scripture Reading | Revelation 3:1-6
1 “To the angel of the church in Sardis write:

These are the words of him who holds the seven spirits of God and the seven stars. I know your deeds; you have a reputation of being alive, but you are dead. 2 Wake up! Strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have found your deeds unfinished in the sight of my God. 3 Remember, therefore, what you have received and heard; hold it fast, and repent. But if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what time I will come to you.

4 Yet you have a few people in Sardis who have not soiled their clothes. They will walk with me, dressed in white, for they are worthy. 5 The one who is victorious will, like them, be dressed in white. I will never blot out the name of that person from the book of life, but will acknowledge that name before my Father and his angels. 6 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. (NIV)

Sermon | The Church in Sardis by Rev. Paul Yoo

Reflection Song | Almighty God
Almighty God to You all hearts are open
Search and know our thoughts and anxious fears
Wash us in the fountain of Your mercy
Come with Your light we cannot hide from You

Almighty God to You all hearts are open
With gratitude we raise our song to You
Come and fill the praises of Your people
In grace and truth You make us new again

Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah

Almighty God to You all hearts are open
We long for more than what this world provides
No shallow spring will ever satisfy us
But Your river deep floods over everything

Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah

Closing Song | On Jordan’s Stormy Banks
On Jordan’s stormy banks I stand,
And cast a wishful eye
To Canaan’s fair and happy land,
Where my possessions lie.

All o’er those wide extended plains,
Shines one eternal day;
There God the Son forever reigns,
And scatters night away.

(Chorus)
I am bound, I am bound
I am bound for the promised land (2x)

No chilling winds nor poisonous breath
Can reach that healthful shore;
Where sickness, sorrow, pain and death,
Are felt and feared no more.

(Chorus)

When shall I see that happy place,
And be forever blessed?
When shall I see my Father’s face,
And in His bosom rest?

(Chorus)
