Alpha is a dinner and discussion series designed for those open to exploring the Christian faith – seekers, skeptics, agnostics, atheists, and people of other faiths. We gather around a meal each week and explore Christianity through the lens of life’s biggest questions. “Is there more to life?” “Why do bad things happen to good people?” “Who is Jesus, and why does he matter?” Alpha is an environment where people can ask anything and challenge everything without coercion or judgment.
Where: W83 Ministry Center, 150 W. 83rd St. between Amsterdam and Columbus Avenues.
Time: 7-9pm (*doors open at 6:45pm)
Who is Alpha for? Everyone is welcome, whether you’re exploring the Christian faith, skeptical, or have given up on church. Whatever your background or beliefs, there’s a place for you at the table.
What does a typical session look like? We start with a meal, followed by a 25-minute talk looking at a different aspect of the Christian faith. The talks are designed to inspire more questions than provide answers, so they set the stage for honest discussion in friendly small groups. You are free to ask or share whatever you’d like or as little as you’re comfortable with.
