Welcome | Jamie Yoo, Senior Director of Community & Counseling

Call to Worship | Psalm 27:4
Leader: One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life.
All: To gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple.

Song of Praise | Only a Holy God
Who else commands all the hosts of heaven?
Who else could make every king bow down?
Who else can whisper and darkness trembles?
Only a Holy God

What other beauty demands such praises?
What other splendor outshines the sun?
What other majesty rules with justice?
Only a Holy God

Come and behold Him
The One and the Only
Cry out, sing holy
Forever a Holy God
Come and worship the Holy God

What other glory consumes like fire?
What other power can raise the dead?
What other name remains undefeated?
Only a Holy God

(Chorus)

Who else could rescue me from my failing?
Who else would offer His only Son?
Who else invites me to call Him Father?
Only a Holy God
Only my Holy God

(Chorus x 2)

Song of Praise | Our Psalm 23
When our lives are filled with questions
And our souls are restless you’re our remedy
We will follow you regardless
We will sing your promise heaven’s melody
Oh and it is so sweet

When we’re lost, when it’s hard
When we’re tired, and the future’s dark
Why should we fear
When we know you’re near

(Chorus)
The Lord is our shepherd
He is always near
Though he leads through the valley
Of the shadow of death
We will not fear
The Lord is our shepherd
We will persevere
Though he leads though the valley
Of the shadow of death
We will not fear

Hallelujah you never left us
Hallelujah you never left us
Hallelujah you never left us
Oh we will not fear
(Repeats x 1)

When the world is filled with chaos
And our hopes and dreams
Feel like a memory
We will rest in your protection
When our faith is tested
You’re our covering
Our justice and our peace

We may rise, we may fall
You’re our strength through it all
Why should we fear
When we know you’re near

(Chorus)

Hallelujah you never left us
Hallelujah you never left us
Hallelujah you never left us
Oh we will not fear
(Repeats x 2)

Prayer of Adoration (Concluded by the Lord’s Prayer)
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.

Doxology | Praise God From Whom All Blessings Flow
Praise God from whom all blessings flow
Praise Him all creatures here below
Praise Him above ye heavenly hosts
Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost
Amen

Prayer of Confession
Merciful God, we confess that we have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed by what we have done, and by what we have left undone.
We have not loved you with our whole heart and mind and strength; we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves.
In your mercy forgive what we have been, help us amend what we are, and direct what we shall be, so that we may delight in your will and walk in your ways, to the glory of your holy name.

Silent Confession

Words of Encouragement | from Psalm 145
The Lord upholds all those who fall and lifts up all who are bowed down. The Lord is righteous in all his ways and loving toward all he has made. The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.

Prayers of the People

Song of Response | How Great Thou Art
O Lord my God, when I in awesome wonder
Consider all the worlds thy hands have made
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder
Thy power throughout the universe displayed

(Chorus)
Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to Thee
How great Thou art, How great Thou art
Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to Thee
How great Thou art, How great Thou art

And when I think that God, his Son not sparing
Sent him to die, I scarce can take it in
That on the cross, my burden gladly bearing
He bled and died to take away my sin

(Chorus)

When Christ shall come, with shout of acclamation
And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart
Then I shall bow, in humble adoration
And there proclaim: “My God, how great Thou art”

(Chorus)

Offering
Gracious God, everything we have comes from you. As we remember who you are and all you have done for us, enable us to be truly generous—with our money, our time, and all we are and have. Use what we give for your glory and the good of our city. Amen.

Greetings and Announcements

Scripture Reading | John 2:13-25
13 When it was almost time for the Jewish Passover, Jesus went up to Jerusalem. 14 In the temple courts he found people selling cattle, sheep and doves, and others sitting at tables exchanging money. 15 So he made a whip out of cords, and drove all from the temple courts, both sheep and cattle; he scattered the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables. 16 To those who sold doves he said, “Get these out of here! Stop turning my Father’s house into a market!” 17 His disciples remembered that it is written: “Zeal for your house will consume me.”

18 The Jews then responded to him, “What sign can you show us to prove your authority to do all this?”

19 Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days.”

20 They replied, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and you are going to raise it in three days?” 21 But the temple he had spoken of was his body. 22 After he was raised from the dead, his disciples recalled what he had said. Then they believed the scripture and the words that Jesus had spoken.

23 Now while he was in Jerusalem at the Passover Festival, many people saw the signs he was performing and believed in his name. 24 But Jesus would not entrust himself to them, for he knew all people. 25 He did not need any testimony about mankind, for he knew what was in each person. (NIV)

Sermon | True Temple by Rev. Paul Yoo

Song of Response | Rock of Ages
Rock of Ages, cleft for me
Let me hide myself in Thee
Let the water and the blood
From Thy wounded side which flowed
Be of sin the double cure
Save from wrath and make me pure

Not the labor of my hands
Can fulfill Thy law’s demands
Could my zeal no respite know
Could my tears forever flow
These for sin could not atone
Thou must save and Thou alone

Nothing in my hand I bring
Simply to Thy cross I cling
Naked come to Thee for dress
Helpless look to Thee for grace
Foul, I to the fountain fly
Wash me, Savior, or I die

While I draw this fleeting breath

When my eyes shall close in death

When I rise to worlds unknown

And behold Thee on Thy throne

Rock of Ages, cleft for me

Let me hide myself in Thee

Song of Response | I Saw a New Heaven and a New Earth
I saw a new heaven and a new earth,
I saw a new heaven and a new earth,
For the first heaven and the first earth
Had passed away, and the sea was no more

I saw a new heaven and a new earth,
I saw a new heaven and a new earth,
For the first heaven and the first earth
Had passed away, and the sea was no more

And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem,
I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem,
I saw it coming down out of heaven
From God, prepared as a bride adorned

I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem,
I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem,
I saw it coming down out of heaven
From God, prepared as a bride adorned

For her husband
For her husband

I heard a loud voice from the throne
I heard a loud voice from the throne
Saying,“Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man.
He will dwell with them

I heard a loud voice from the throne
I heard a loud voice from the throne
Saying,“Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man.
He will dwell with them

And they will be his people,
His people
And they will be his people
His people

He will wipe away every tear from their eyes,
Wipe away every tear from their eyes,
Wipe away every tear from their eyes,
And death shall be no more

He will wipe away every tear from their eyes,
Wipe away every tear from their eyes,
Wipe away every tear from their eyes,
And death shall be no more

No mourning, nor crying
Nor pain anymore
The former things have passed away

No mourning, nor crying
Nor pain anymore
The former things have passed away

I saw a new heaven and a new earth,
I saw a new heaven and a new earth,
For the first heaven and the first earth
Had passed away, and the sea was no more
