As with the Israelites who long wandered in the wilderness, we often feel like parched people stuck in the desert. Advent is about our journey home. In Jesus’ first Advent, he redeemed us and set us on the way from the wilderness to a place overflowing with water and teeming with life. He will come again to secure our final homecoming. There we will see him in all his glory.
