Jonah receives word from God to go to Nineveh and ‘preach against’ their wickedness. Jonah responds to this call by running to the opposite side of the world. His response reveals the shadow that has plagued the human heart since Adam and Eve’s rejection of God in Eden. The sermon will explore our resistance to God’s word and how that creates resistance to God’s mercy, for us and others.
