WS Update: A Liturgy for the Wrapping of Christmas Gifts

December 18, 2023

A Liturgy for the Wrapping of Christmas Gifts
by Wayne Garvey and Douglas McKelvey
This liturgy is taken from
Every Moment Holy Volume 3 from Rabbit Room Press.

I sit amongst rolls of wrapping paper,
tissue, bags, and bows—presents spread before
me, ready to be concealed in shrouds of joyful
mystery, and nestled for a time beneath the tree.

Pastoral Search Committee Update

As part of the next step in creating the church and pastoral profiles, and since our last update a month ago, the search committee held numerous meetings with Redeemer West Side staff, lay leaders, and congregants. We are incredibly grateful for everyone’s participation and the time you took to share with us your thoughts, ideas, hopes, and experiences. Specifically, the sessions helped to provide information regarding what in our existing culture, mission, and values we should continue to build upon, identified areas for further growth and development, and highlighted pastoral characteristics and traits that are important to you.

In the coming weeks, the search committee will be meeting to discuss, pray, meditate, process, and digest all of the data gathered and discussions held with the staff, lay leaders, and congregation to inform the generation of our senior pastor and church profiles. These profiles will then be used as references and benchmarks for the identification of potential candidates.

Please continue to pray for our pastors, the church, and the search committee.
