Raising children in New York City offers them a unique experience. Our children are surrounded by a vibrant and diverse world filled with opportunity, culture, and creativity. From world-class museums to parks, Broadway shows to neighborhood street fairs, children in NYC grow up curious, engaged, and resilient. They quickly learn to handle differences, see the bigger world, appreciate beauty and struggles, and value life beyond their neighborhood. The city’s energy and endless exposure to the arts, innovation, and ideas can be both inspiring and formative. And yes, our children grow up knowing what truly great pizza actually tastes like.
But amidst all this opportunity, there’s also noise, both literal and spiritual. NYC is fast-paced, success-driven, and often skeptical of faith. That’s why it’s crucial for children here to have a rooted, Christ-centered community. A church family provides more than just moral guidance. This family offers belonging, stability, and truth in a world that often promotes shifting values. In Christian community, kids are reminded of who they are in Jesus, and are surrounded by mentors and peers who model grace, service, and faith. Christian community becomes a place of rest, purpose, and grounding during a week of school, stress, peer drama, and pressure to perform at the highest levels. It becomes a vital anchor for kids growing up in the heart of it all.
Looking for more midweek Christian community for your kids this fall? Sign up for Kids’ Community Group (KCG)! Open to kindergarten through 5th grade, KCG offers a place where children can grow in faith, build lasting friendships, and be reminded of who they are in Jesus. In a city that never stops moving, KCG is a place of belonging, stability, and truth. It’s a midweek reprise filled with Bible stories, worship, friendship, mentors, and of course, [pretty good] pizza!
With joy and gratitude,
Laura Einhorn
