At our Congregational Meeting taking place this Sunday, the elders of RWS are proposing expanding our Board of Trustees from three to nine members, with the goal of enhancing our church’s governance.
This change is driven by our desire to enable more congregants to participate in the leadership and stewardship of our church. An expanded board enables us to leverage professional expertise within our own community—in critical areas such as finance, strategic planning, and human resources. These trustees will provide essential wisdom and oversight for the church’s corporate and legal affairs. In addition, trustees will also be mature, faithful Christians who understand how to consider organizational needs from a missional, spiritual perspective.
Importantly, they will also have a voice in elders’ meetings, ensuring that our two leadership groups are closely integrated. This step will better equip us to steward the resources God has given us and pursue our mission in the city. As Proverbs 15:22 states, planning is enhanced by collective wisdom from leaders with different gifts.

A special Redeemer West Side Congregational Meeting will be held in person at W83. This meeting is open to all Redeemer West Side members, regular attenders, and participants. Please join us in the Sanctuary immediately after the 11:30 am service concludes.
We have three new Pilot Community Groups meeting in Astoria, Hudson Yards, and the Upper West Side! Pilot Community Groups are brand-new Community Groups (CGs) that commit to meeting for a minimum of seven weeks for the purpose of building a gospel-centered community. They are especially designed for those who are new to RWS or have never joined a CG before. Similar to our ongoing CGs, Pilot Groups gather for Bible discussion, prayer, fellowship, and mutual encouragement. What makes Pilot CGs distinct from established CGs is that everyone is new to one another. Click here to sign up.
