WS Update: The Gift of Worship

June 2, 2025

Some years ago, the Metropolitan Museum of Art ran an ad campaign in which they asked celebrities to share what the Met has meant to them. Comedian Seth Meyers said this:

“I often think there is nothing more artistic than a well-written joke. Then I go to the Met and I remember I’m an idiot.”

In his characteristically humorous way, Meyers reminds us that gazing upon great beauty has a way of liberating us from our self-centeredness and a myopic view of our lives and the world around us.

In the most ultimate sense, this is what happens when we gather for worship every Sunday. In worship, we have a chance to lift our eyes and behold the greatest beauty of all: God himself. As we see him, we’re changed, healed, freed.

See you Sunday,

Pastor Bijan

Sharing Our Faith in This Cultural Moment

This seminar, led by Pastor Bijan, will have two goals. First, to understand more deeply the contours and characteristics of modern culture—the real questions and longings people have about faith and spirituality. Second, to consider practical tools for effectively talking with others about Jesus in light of those questions and longings.
