The Center for Faith & Work (CFW) exists to help people connect their faith to every aspect of life and work. We believe God cares not only about what happens on Sunday, but also about how we work, create, lead, serve, and contribute to the common good throughout the week.
Through courses, fellowships, vocational communities, events, and resources, we help Christians develop a biblical vision for work, discern their calling, grow in spiritual maturity, and become agents of renewal in their workplaces, industries, and communities.

Gotham Fellowship
The Gotham Fellowship is a nine-month journey of formation for New Yorkers seeking a deeper integration of faith and work. Through theological learning, spiritual practices, vocational reflection, mentorship, and community, Fellows discover how the gospel reshapes not only what they believe, but how they live, work, lead, and serve in the world.
Vocation Groups
Vocation Groups are communities for Christians working in the same industry who want to connect their faith and work more intentionally. Together, participants explore the opportunities and challenges unique to their profession, build meaningful relationships, pray for one another, and consider how God might use their work for the good of others and the flourishing of the city.

Faith & Work 101
Most Christians spend far more time at work than they do in church, yet many struggle to connect Sunday worship with the rest of the work week. Faith & Work 101 introduces a biblical framework for work, vocation, and calling, helping participants understand God’s purpose for work, discover a richer understanding of vocation, and explore how faith shapes their daily lives and contribution to the city.
Designed for anyone new to faith and work conversations, the course offers a practical and compelling vision for following Christ in every area of life.
Vocation Lab
Vocation Lab helps participants discern calling and navigate vocational decisions.
Whether considering a career change, exploring next steps, or seeking greater clarity and purpose, participants engage practical exercises, biblical reflection, and guided conversation to better understand how God may be leading them.
Events, Workshops & Retreats
Throughout the year, the Center for Faith & Work hosts forums, workshops, retreats, industry nights, and special events that address contemporary questions at the intersection of faith, work, culture, leadership, and calling.
Recent topics have included technology and AI, wellbeing at work, cultural renewal, vocation, leadership, and industry-specific challenges.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to attend Redeemer West Side to participate?
No. CFW is a ministry of Redeemer Presbyterian Church that serves the entire Redeemer network, however, participants come from churches throughout New York City, other faith traditions, and some are simply exploring Christianity. Whether you’re part of Redeemer or not, you’re welcome to participate.
Is CFW primarily for business professionals?
No. We believe all work matters to God, and that every season of life presents opportunities to faithfully love God and serve our neighbors. Participants include artists, educators, parents, healthcare professionals, lawyers, entrepreneurs, nonprofit leaders, students, retirees, those between jobs, and many others.
What if I'm unemployed, retired, a student, or considering a career change?
You don’t need to be established in a career to participate. Many people come to CFW during seasons of transition, seeking greater clarity about calling, purpose, and what faithful next steps might look like. Programs like Faith & Work 101, Vocation Lab, and many of our events are designed with those questions in mind.
What if I don't particularly like my job?
Many people come to CFW carrying questions about dissatisfaction, burnout, workplace challenges, or whether they are in the right field. Rather than assuming everyone has found their ideal calling, we create space to wrestle honestly with these questions. Vocation Lab, in particular, helps participants discern vocation, navigate transitions, and consider what faithfulness might look like in their current season.
How is CFW different from professional networking?
While meaningful professional relationships often emerge through our programs, CFW is not primarily a networking organization. Our focus is spiritual formation: helping people integrate their faith and work, grow in wisdom and Christlike character, and faithfully serve God and their neighbors through their daily work.
Where should I start?
If you’re new to faith and work conversations, Faith & Work 101 is often the best place to begin. If you’re looking for community within your profession, a Vocation Group may be the right fit. If you’re seeking a deeper formation experience, consider the Gotham Fellowship. If you’re in transition and asking questions about your professional direction, consider Vocation Lab.
Why is there a cost for some programs?
Some CFW events are free, while others have a registration fee to help cover program expenses. We strive to keep costs as accessible as possible so that finances are not a barrier to participation.
Do you offer scholarships?
Yes. We never want finances to be a barrier to participation.
Why does the Center for Faith & Work focus on New York City?
We believe God calls Christians to seek the peace and prosperity of the places where they live. New York City is one of the most influential and diverse cities in the world, and we want to equip Christians to serve their neighbors and contribute to the flourishing of the city through their daily work.
What does success look like for someone who participates in CFW?
As the cultural renewal ministry of Redeemer Presbyterian Church, CFW seeks to connect, equip, and mobilize Christians to integrate their faith and work for the peace and prosperity of New York City. We believe God calls his people to love their neighbors and seek the flourishing of the places where they live, and New York offers extraordinary opportunities to do just that.

General Ministry Donation: This supports the entire West Side Youth ministry. Donate here.
Scholarship Fund Donation: This directly funds need-based scholarships for youth to join events like retreats, classes, etc., as well as other ministry financial needs. Donate here.

Prayer Request Form: Have prayer needs you’d like to share? Whether you’re a youth or adult, we’d love the chance to pray for you. Share your prayer requests here.
Registration Form: If you’re a parent or guardian whose youth will be attending any of our events, we’ll need a registration form completed by you. This form will remain valid for the entirety of the ministry year (please note, certain venues or events may require additional forms). Register your youth here.
Scholarship Form: We never want cost to prevent youth from joining an event. If you would like to request financial assistance to help cover your youth’s registration fee for a particular event, complete this form and return it to hello@wsyouth.com.
prayer meetings
One of the best ways you can support our work is by joining us in prayer. During the school year we meet regularly to pray for the youth and their families and friends. All adults are invited to join us—prayer takes place at the W83 Ministry Center (150 W 83rd St) but you can also participate virtually over Zoom. Sign up here if you’re interested in joining.
