This short Psalm deals with one of the ongoing battles of the human condition, which is contentment. A word that conveys a state of satisfaction and or peaceful happiness. David identifies that which undermines this state as a pride heart and haughty eyes. In a city driven by ambition this brief poem reminds us of the condition we long for (a weaned child) arrived at by an aspiration for the presence of God (put your hope in the Lord).
