Standing firm against evil requires putting on God’s armor. The image of “standing firm” is one of a soldier who is standing his ground, not being overcome or pushed off his place by the enemy. Jesus famously said “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:31-32) Truth must be objectively understood and subjectively lived for it to help us stand firm.
Lent season is upon us! Use this time to reflect on what Jesus has done for us.
