A few years ago, I joined my Community Group for a prayer walk in the Upper West Side, and I was surprised by my experience. I thought I knew my neighborhood well, but I was learning to see it differently – not just through the eyes of a consumer. I started to notice people and places that I would have overlooked before.
On Sunday, March 30 at 1:15 pm, I invite you to join our church for lunch and a prayer walk through our neighborhood as a way of pursuing its holistic flourishing. Pastoral staff and other leaders will lead several different groups as we walk through and pray for the local neighborhood of Redeemer West Side. Afterward, we’ll have the opportunity to debrief and share what we’ve learned with one another.
My hope is that this prayer walk will encourage us to see our neighborhoods and city through God’s eyes. I pray it will encourage us to ask new questions, notice different things, and intercede for our city with God’s heart.
