WS Update: 40 Days

April 24, 2023

The dawn of the Christian church as we know it begins with a crucial period of 40 days. During these 40 days that Luke tells in Acts 1:1-11, Jesus appears to his disciples and teaches them about the kingdom of God. He also commissions them to go out and spread the gospel. This period of time is a time of radical transformation for the disciples, as they come to understand the full significance of Jesus’ death and resurrection.

These 40 days with Jesus are a time of reorientation for the disciples. They are no longer bound by the old ways of thinking and doing things. Instead, they are called to live in light of the new reality of Jesus’ resurrection. This new reality calls them to love their enemies, to forgive those who have wronged them, and to serve the poor and marginalized.

These 40 days with Jesus are also a time of preparation for the disciples. They are preparing to go out into the world and share the good news of Jesus Christ. They are preparing to face persecution and hardship, but they are also filled with hope and joy. They know that they are not alone, for Jesus is with them always, even to the end of the age.

These 40 days with Jesus are a time of great significance for the Christian church. They are a time when the disciples come to understand the full significance of Jesus’ death and resurrection.
