Of course he does, just like he cares about everything that we do. But, how do we discern our approach to American politics, given the complexities of our two-party system? And what if “my party” is not biblical enough and “the other side” has several biblically valid aspects to its approach, even when we disagree? In our contemporary culture, we’ve been trained to vilify our opponents and treat each election cycle as an epic struggle. That tension has severed relationships within families and communities, which only furthers the tension. Some of us deeply care about what happens in our broader culture, but others have given up, exhausted or cynical, just watching from the sidelines.
On September 9, at 8 pm, we’re delighted to host David French and Curtis Chang, two leading authors and thinkers who will be in conversation with each other about how we got this way. And how, as Christians, we have a unique capacity to rebuild relationships based on a hope that is bigger than the power struggles of our politics.
Grace and peace,
Drew
