WS Update: God Our Maker

October 6, 2025

You can learn a lot about someone by looking at something they’ve made. What we create says a lot about who we are and how we view the world.

The book of Genesis tells us that God is the maker of everything. By studying what God made, and how and why God made what he made, we learn about him: his heart, his will, and his design for the world and our lives.

Our fall sermon series at RWS will explore Genesis 1-11, as we seek to know and experience the God who is our maker. And as we see who he is, we will in turn better come to know who we are and the abundant life that God is inviting us into. As John Calvin wrote,

“It is certain that man never achieves a clear knowledge of himself unless he has first looked upon God’s face.”

With hope,

Pastor Bijan

Faith & Work 101

This introductory cross-vocational course from the Center for Faith & Work challenges participants to take an in-depth look at their particular work through the lens of the gospel. We’ll trace the story of the Bible to understand God’s intention for work, weaving together weekly teaching, spiritual practices, daily devotionals, and group discussions. This weekly course will meet in person at Redeemer East Side from October 20 to November 17.
