WS Update: Restoration

March 11, 2024

The Christian community, including our church, is a place where people who need grace help others who need grace. Galatians 6:1 says, “… you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted.” Restoration is based on trust in the gospel to overcome anything and everything wrong with us. For those who grasp their own need for God’s mercy, it becomes possible to reach out in love with the Holy Spirit’s power and wisdom. Restoration, however, isn’t blind to the pain and suffering caused by others, nor to the continuing evil of others, nor to those who refuse to change. It takes discernment to know how to respond best in complex situations. Tim Keller’s book Forgive: Why Should I and How Can I? explores this in more detail.

Join the New York Callis Ensemble as they unravel new chamber music works amidst the enshrined classics. Witness as nine musicians infuse historical context into newly composed music, bridging the living and the dead. This concert will be held in the beautiful Sanctuary space of the W83 building, followed by a reception with the artists.
