Going through hardship and suffering impacts your faith. Sometimes suffering draws people closer to God. Sometimes, suffering—especially chronic suffering, disappointment after disappointment—makes God feel really far away. One of the urgent questions in spiritual life must be: How can you continue trusting God when life is hard?
We’re starting a new sermon series this Sunday: “Trusting God When Life Is Hard.” Over the course of four Sundays, we’ll be learning with and from the ancient prophet Habakkuk. Habakkuk was a prophet to God’s people during a time of faith crisis. Habakkuk’s world felt shaky and uncertain. God’s ways were confusing, and God himself felt distant.
In my own spiritual journey, Habakkuk has become a close and trusted friend and a wise mentor for spiritual life. His message has shown me how to bring hard questions to God, how to wait for God’s response, and how to keep trusting God when I don’t understand all that he’s up to.
I’m praying this will be an impactful series of sermons for our entire church family.
See you Sunday,
Pastor Bijan

Our new sermon series on Habakkuk begins on Sunday, April 27.
