At the heart of the gospel is a generous and self-giving God who gave everything that was dear to him – even his own life – to heal us from our broken condition and restore us to wholeness. As one biblical translation put it: “The Word [Jesus] became flesh and blood, and moved into the neighborhood” (John 1:14). There is something about giving ourselves sacrificially for the flourishing of others that goes along with the grain of the universe.
At Redeemer West Side, we pursue and promote the shalom – or the holistic flourishing – of New York City. On a local neighborhood level, we build a web of partnerships with various community leaders and organizations on the West Side. On a broader city-wide level, we partner with Hope for New York (HFNY) and seven of its affiliates that we love.
This Easter, we are partnering with HFNY on a sacrificial offering to support vulnerable and marginalized communities throughout the city. Would you consider giving sacrificially – over and above our regular giving to the church – in order to help our whole city flourish? In doing so, we are partnering with the Lord himself as he restores this world to what it was meant to be.
Grace and peace,
Paul

Our church seeks to walk alongside and serve our neighbors in need not only in our local neighborhood but throughout NYC. One of the ways we do so is by partnering with Hope for New York and its affiliates. Join us for a time where we will learn more about the various needs throughout NYC, hear stories of how congregants are involved, and pray for the work of our partner affiliates. Light refreshments will be provided.
