Just over 35 years ago on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, a new church called Redeemer opened its doors for its first Sunday morning worship service. That day the new church’s pastor, Tim Keller, preached:
Because I am received in the Savior, because he has pardoned me out of his sheer grace rather than anything I have ever done or can do, because he has forgiven my sins through Jesus Christ’s death on the cross, now I want to become like him. I want to please this Great One, this great God who has done this for me, and I want to live a life of intimacy with him.
By God’s grace and with God’s help, Redeemer–now a family of churches and ministries across New York City–has been communicating this message of God’s amazing and transforming grace for the past 35 years.
On Thursday, November 21, the Redeemer Network of churches will be gathering together for an evening of prayer and praise. We’ll look back with gratitude and praise to God for his grace to Redeemer over the past 35 years. But it won’t be an evening merely of nostalgia. We’ll be discovering together how the same principles that helped Redeemer get started can help us move faithfully into our future, as we continue to love and serve our city.

Prayer & Praise Night – Thursday, November 21
Join us as we mark the milestone of 35 years! Together, we’ll praise God’s past faithfulness and pray for his continued mission with the Redeemer Network of Churches. Special guests include Kathy Keller, Mai Hariu-Powell, Jeff White, and others. Worship starts at 7 pm, but remember to stick around for fellowship afterward at our special reception.
